This is a personal site run by Owen O’Connor. I am an information security leader with 20+ years of experience in Ireland and internationally. My background is highly technical but today I’m more interested in the human side of security management.
I’ve realised that the most interesting challenges in security have to do with managing talent: finding the right people, providing what they need, putting them on the right problems, and keeping them there long enough to have an impact. Unless we improve how we manage talent, we will never move the needle on our larger issues.
On this site I will try to share what I’ve learned, but also what I’m working to learn or understand.
